Kantha stitching with Jane Holmes
Jane gave a fascinating insight into her recent visit to India to research Kantha quilts, made in the West Bengal area. The group were shown many samples of this hand stitched work and could see photographs of the local artisans Jane had met during the trip who crafted this traditional work.
The group then each set about stitching small Indian motifs in the Kantha style along with letters spelling out ‘Ribble Creative Stitchers’. These stitched squares will then be made up into a large banner which the group can use at future exhibitions and events.
