I joined RCS in 2017 following a long overdue desire to increase my range of sewing and textile knowledge and for inspiration. I have always loved fabrics and textiles from a very young age and experimented with a range of different techniques. Later on my family life and career took over almost all of my spare time, allowing me only a little time to work on essentials, like soft furnishings and the children’s fancy dress outfits!
However as time has moved on and the children into adulthood I have found myself becoming even more interested in textiles, starting with self taught patchwork and dressmaking as well as even more soft furnishings for home.
Over the last two years I have attended various workshops for a variety of textile crafts, I joined a patchwork class and became hooked!
I mainly do patchwork, having now made every member of my family and friends a quilt, cushion, bag an applique item or one of each!
I enjoy patchwork, quilting, applique, free motion embroidery and will have a go at anything.
From day one the members of RCS have been very welcoming, I feel so lucky to be surrounded by so many talented ladies. The monthly workshops are brilliant as they are an opportunity to learn something else new which I love to do.
