Figures and Faces workshop with Jo Beattie

Textile artist Jo Beattie came to Ribble Creative Stitchers for a workshop stitch drawing figures and faces. 

Jo gave a talk on Friday evening and showed members examples of her work, explaining some of the techniques she uses to create her beautiful pieces. Jo’s work is mainly stitched onto translucent fabrics and substrates and she plays with the effects of light and the shadows the images cast. Jo guided RCS members working from their personal photographs to create individual and sequences of images which were full of personality.
